·         The U bolt yoke is a 1310 Series

·         Axle U Joints are genuine Dana Spicer parts

·         G2 axle shafts are the 30 spline type

With these axles, you will be able to simply bolt them into your Jeep as soon as you get them.  They are incredibly heavy duty and come to you complete with new ring and pinion sets in the OE style.

G2 Axle and Gear TJ D44 Front Axle Assembly 4.56 Ratio with Air Locker

G2 parts are made for vigorous drivers.  They originally began as a part of another company called Genuine Gear and their purpose was to make premium arts that could withstand high strength demands of the drivers of modern performance rigs.  Evolving trends are leaning more towards heavier vehicles with larger tires.  Even with the trends leaning this way, stock drive train components are just not reliable enough to handle this type of heavy duty driving.

In an effort to accommodate both the more rugged vehicles of today as well as to accommodate your wallet better, the minds at G2 Axle and Gear create products that are both tough and reliable that have been made to exceed the standards that the factory has set forth.  G2 can be found in Compton, California where their gifted engineers design the drive train and differential parts that today’s drivers need.

G2 Gears

G2 Axles and Gear

G2 Axles and Gear is actually an arm of a larger company known as Genuine Gear.  When Genuine Gear noticed that the demands from the ever growing 4x4 customer base were not being met, they formed G2.  Since then, they have strived to make G2 a household name among off road enthusiasts.  They have done this by creating and marketing heavy duty off road vehicle parts such as axles, differentials and gears.  These parts are made specifically for high performance vehicles.  Even more specifically, they are for big wheeled, high torque, low gear vehicles.

What is a Gear?

There are a couple of things that come to mind when mentioning gears in conjunction with vehicles.  The first is of course a round piece (generally metal) that has notches or grooves carved into it that mesh with other pieces.  The other type of gear is of course transmission related…as in what gear are you in?

What kind of Gears Does G2 make?

G2 makes the former type of gears.  They are high quality gear steel made.  These gears come in sets and guarantee you a quiet ride.  They come with a huge choice of ratios and applications and offer installation tolerances that are consistent.  These gears are made in factories alongside OE gears.  Since they are made that way, they are put to the same tests and have to meet the same qualifications.

G2 also makes the G2 Performance Series ring and pinions too.  These are created from a different kind of metal – 8620 steel.  This makes these gears tougher and more durable than the OEM series discussed above.  These gears are tough enough to handle whatever you might throw at them, but dependable enough to be used daily.  Like the OEM gears, they are sold in sets and offer the same consistency in tolerances of installation.

Warranty

All G2 parts come with warranties that are part specific.  This means they may differ depending on which part you purchase.  Warranties will be included in the package.  Be sure to read and thoroughly understand your warranty so you know exactly what is covered, how long it is covered and what it is covered for.  This is for your protection.

Where to Buy

G2 parts are not available directly through G2.  You can however buy them online from an authorized G2 parts dealer.  Simply Google G2 parts and you will get as many dealers as you need.

G2 Dana 44

If you are new to the world of off roading and the parts involved, then you might be wondering what a G2 Dana 44 is.  In fact, you might be wondering about a lot of the terminology.  I will give you a hint on where to find off road terminology definitions and where to get your G2 Dana 44.

G2 is a company that manufactures axles and gears for Jeeps and other off road vehicles.  They are a subsidiary of Genuine Gear.  Now, if you do an internet search for Genuine Gear, you will only find their parts…not a web site for them specifically.  However, the G2 website can easily be found and this is where you need to go.  The web site is quite comprehensive and even offers an encyclopedia of off road terms!  This obviously is a great help to the newbies out there.

While you are on the G2 site, take a look around at the different kinds of front and rear axles they offer as well as the differentials and other parts you might have a need for.

G2 Dana 44

G2 is the main brand here.  Dana Spicer is yet another company that manufactures off road parts…after-market off road parts to be exact.  Dana is a much respected name in the field.  Dana and G2 have teamed up to makes the G2 Dana 44 axles.

These axles are extremely tough and have been designed and tested thoroughly to ensure that they can stand up to whatever kind of terrain you choose to use them on.  They have a Big Spline option available which basically means that the diameter of the shafts is larger in order to add strength to the axles.  They also have a dual bolt pattern and to help with corrosion and wear resistance they are coated with black oxide.  The studs on these axles are threaded too.

All of that and these axles still come in at less than the leading competition…and they hold up better to boot!

Warranty

All G2 parts come with warranties and guess what…Dana 44 is included in that.  Warranty information will be found in one of two places.  The first place to look is the packing material.  The other option is in the installation instructions.  Either way, your part has a warranty and you should familiarize yourself with it.

Check out their web site for further specifications and information.

G2 Axles

About

G2 is actually a subsidiary of another company called Genuine Gear.  The need for G2 came about when Genuine Gear saw a need for higher performance parts to meet the demands of an ever larger 4x4 community.

Front Axles

Do you have huge tires?  Carry heavy loads?  I know, you like off roading…a lot.  Need superb performance?  Is your vehicle high torque and low geared?  Take a look at the G2 line of after-market axles for your vehicle.  These are made from extremely durable 4340 chrome/nickel.  This is known as Chromolly.  They are guaranteed to meet and exceed your needs.

Rear Axles

These are a bit different from the front axles.  They are made from a steel alloy and have been heated treated and even forged to ensure the greatest strength.  The shafts offer even more strength because they have a larger diameter.  This is called Big Spline.  With this design, your drive line’s weakest link is definitely not the axles.  These axles also feature a dual bolt pattern and even have threaded studs.  To protect against corrosion and wear, they are coated with black oxide.

Axle Assembly

These assemblies are an easy install as they are simply bolt in.  They are meant as a replacement for the stock assemblies found in Jeep TJ as well as the Jeep XJ Cherokee.  They feature 30 spline axles made of 4340 Chromolly and differential covers that are extremely heavy duty.  The u-joints are 5-760x Dana Spicers and it also features gear ratios that have a range of 4.10-5.38

Differential Covers

These are pretty cool because they are made of aluminum that has been heat treated and are made in such a way as to make the heat just disappear.  This also helps to keep the ring and pinion damage free.  Some of the features of these differential covers are reinforced ribs to enhance the strength and also the seal surface has been completely machined ensuring that you get an installation that is leak free.  They have also been shot peened and heat treated to guarantee that they can handle a direct impact.

Warranty

As with all auto parts, G2 axles come with warranties.  Warranty information will be included in the packing materials with your purchase.  You should always be sure to read all warranty materials to make sure you understand exactly what is covered, what it is covered for and how long it is covered.
